GOOS presents ocean-climate priorities at the COP26

The Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) presented its ocean-climate priorities at the 26th session of the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland. GOOS co-chair Anya Waite (Ocean Frontiers Institute) presented GOOS priorities in the science pavilion as part of the GCOS Status Report 2021 and the Earth Information Day.

Towards a global strategy for monitoring of surface ocean CO2

At the JPI Oceans scoping workshop on ocean carbon capacities in October 2021, the EU coordinator of the G7 FSOI Coordination Centre presented the G7 collaboration with the International Ocean Carbon Coordination Project (IOCCP) to develop an internationally agreed strategy for Surface Ocean CO2 monitoring.
