The list below consists of mainly external events, relevant for EU4OceanObs and involving the participation of the EU action coordinators of the GEO Blue Planet Initiative and/or G7 Future of the Seas & Oceans Initiative.

Loading Events

The 2nd UN Ocean Decade Laboratory will be held from 15 to 17 September 2021 and will offer valuable insights and talks around the Ocean Decade Outcome: “A Predicted Ocean”. The Laboratory will investigate the key elements required for the change we need to see targeting a predictable Ocean for our societies over the course of the Decade.

The Core Event will be streamed live, offering panel discussions and interviews on 15 September from 8:00 pm to 12:00 midnight CEST. You will be able to interact and network with other participants and speakers via matchmaking or direct chats (text and video) also after the Core Event.

A total of 31 Satellite Activities, hosted by a diverse range of experts from several fields and targeting various goals will be presented after the Core Event. They will consist of workshops, panel discussions along with interactive lectures around topics like novel deep-ocean observation methods, efficient data digitization, accurate climate emergency systems, predicting the future of coral reefs using AI, and lots more! You can take part in all Satellite Activities, surveys, quizzes and Q&A sessions besides broader networking possibilities.

The final Wrap-up on 17 September from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm CEST will also be live-streamed and reflect the Core Event and the Satellite Activities while offering valuable insights and interviews with several participants.
