The list below consists of mainly external events, relevant for EU4OceanObs and involving the participation of the EU action coordinators of the GEO Blue Planet Initiative and/or G7 Future of the Seas & Oceans Initiative.

Loading Events

The GEO Week 2021 will be held from 23 to 26 November in a virtual format and will include the GEO-17 Plenary, anchor and side events, and a virtual exhibition.

The major milestone events linked to global policy agendas  in 2021, including the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP26, the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) COP15, the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration present a new set of challenges and opportunities for the international community. During GEO Week 2021, the multidisciplinary activities of the GEO Work Programme will be presented that that address and assess these challenges and opportunities in different sectors, highlighting the potential contribution of Earth observations to these efforts.
