The Second World Ocean Assessment (WOA II) was launched on 21 April 2021. The collective work of hundreds of scientists around the world, the WOA II is the major output of the second cycle of the UN Regular Process for Global Reporting and Assessment of the States of the Marine Environment.
The second phase of the EU4OceanObs project (2023 – 2027) is funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme through a contribution agreement between the European Research Executive Agency and Mercator Ocean International. The initial project (2021 to 2023) was funded through the Partnership Instrument managed by the European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments and implemented by Mercator Ocean International.
