Launch of EU4OceanObs communication campaign on understanding and monitoring marine biology and ecology, with spotlight on the European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC), to better protect and restore marine environments and biodiversity, and ensure the sustainable use of marine resources.
With the coastal zone under increasing pressure from climate change and development, informed policy and management has never been more important. Thanks to the efforts of Copernicus and the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet), Earth observations from satellites and from sensors in the sea are helping decision-makers gather the evidence they need to create effective strategies.
We invite experts in observing or/and modelling approaches and Arctic ecosystems to join an action organised by the EU-funded projects ECOTIP and EU4OceanObs towards advancing modelling carbon sequestration in the Arctic. The second phase of the EU4OceanObs project (2023 – 2027) is funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme through a contribution agreement between the European Research Executive Agency and Mercator Ocean International. The initial project (2021 to 2023) was funded through the Partnership Instrument managed by the European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments and implemented by Mercator Ocean International.
